The intradermal needle
The intradermal needle is a sort of specially made short needle used for embedding it in the skin or subcutaneously for relatively long time.#{ }!u#u:e.sdZThere are two types, the thumbtack type and grain-like type, the former is about 0.3 cm long with a circular head, and the latter some 1 cm long with a hand like a grain or wheat.
[b]1. Manipulations[/b]
(1)The Thumbtack Needle: Clamp the head of the needle with a forceps,puncture its tip into the disinfected point, leave the head of the needle on the surface of the skin and fix it with a piece of adhesive. It is suitable for thepoints on the face and the ear.
(2)The Grain-like Needle: Clamp the body of the needle with a forceps, insert the needle horizontally into the disinfected point some 0. 5-1 cm deep, fix external part of the needle outside the skin with a piece of adhesive. It is used for points or trigger points at the various parts of the body.r#e*k8]&e.} V_N

It is mainly used for chronic, intractable or painful diseases which need long Period retention of the needle, such as headache, stomachache, biliary colic, insomnia, hypertension, irregular menstruation, enuresis, cough, asthma, etc.IP4w!p$op]g0V"b

[b]3． Precautions[/b]
① No intradermal needle are close to the joints so as to avoid pain by motion.Ts p `#d6w0iFF
② Intradermal needle is not allowed at the inflammatory location or skin ulcers.
③ During the embedding period, keep the place around the needle clean to prevent infection.
④ The duration of implantation is varied withthe pathological conditions as well as seasons, in summer when one tends to sweat, the needles are generally retained for 1-2 days to avoid infection. In autumn or winter, retention of the needle may last 3-7 days. During the retention, press the embedded site for 1-2 minutes at every 4 hours to enhance the stimulation and raise the therapeutic effect.
